Why 14mm real wood engineered flooring? Solid wood at this thickness can be prone to warping in a herringbone pattern. Engineered 14mm boards are much more stable and less likely to gap or buckle with temperature changes.

Installation Considerations

Subfloor: Because herringbone involves many small pieces, your subfloor must be perfectly level. Any unevenness will cause the corners of the planks to "lip" (stick up), which is a trip hazard and looks messy.

Wastage: Always allow for 10-15% wastage. The diagonal cuts required at the walls for the herringbone pattern use more wood than standard straight planks.
